We’ve all seen and heard the ads promising obscene savings and superior coverage.  Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?  Well, that’s because it is.  Many large insurance companies claim far more than they can deliver.  We know; we’ve been in the industry long enough to see all the gimmicks and games, and we’re tired of seeing people get duped.  It’s time somebody took a stand and spoke the truth.  Scroll down the page to finally learn the truth behind their claims.

They Claim: “All Insurance policies are the same.  You can get the same thing anywhere, it’s all about price.”

The Truth: Contrary to popular misconceptions, insurance policies are not “commodities” (fixed products with identical benefits).  Your insurance policy is supposed to accurately cover every aspect of your life.  A fixed, rigid product can’t do that.  Only a customized policy can adequately protect you from loss.  And the only way to personalize your policy is by talking with a real person, a professional agent, who understands the different benefits companies offer and what’s best for your unique situation.

The insurance industry is becoming more and more cloudy with a flurry of competitors constantly making empty promises to build their client base. The Truth: Many large companies lure new customers with discounts only to raise their premiums at their first renewal.  As a suit salesman once said, “Discounts are like overcoats, you have to put them on to take them off.”  It’s true; you’re not paying the real price for your first year.  Soon those too-good-to-be-true premiums will jump back up to their real level.  Whenever you see or hear those ads, just ask yourself, “How can this company offer discounts when they’ve been uncompetitively priced for years?”

They Claim: “All agencies are equal.  We’re all selling the same thing.  The only difference between each company is their mark-up.”

The Truth: All agencies are not equal, and the big difference is service.  We’ve been conditioned to shop by price, not quality, and many people never consider the huge benefit and added value of reliable, prompt service should they ever have a question about their policy or need to make a claim.  Look at the representatives of large companies in your area.  They mostly have one or two people per office in a community.  Even with their resources, two people cannot staff an office and be available like 26 can.  Period.  Also, do you really want to call an 800 number when you have a question or need to report a claim? Or would you rather be helped by someone you see in the community?
